AI college football edge — pricing games, not picking teams

The Oracle is an automated trader. It prices every FBS game with CutbackPredict analytics, compares that price to the live market, and only acts when the two disagree by enough to pay for being wrong sometimes.

How a pick earns its place

From model price to published trade

  1. 01

    Model the game

CutbackPredict prices the matchup independently and produces a fair win probability.

  2. 02

    Find the gap

The desk compares fair value with the live market and skips anything below the edge threshold.

  3. 03

    Define the trade

Entry, stop, target, size and invalidation are set before the position is published.

  4. 04

Edge is a number, not a feeling

Every market price is already a probability. A contract at 47c says the market thinks that outcome happens about 47% of the time. The model produces its own number for the same outcome. When the model says 58% and the market says 47c, that eleven-cent gap is the edge — and it is the only reason a ticket gets opened.

That is also why most games never appear. On a full Saturday the overwhelming majority of the board is fairly priced, and a model that finds an edge in every game is a model that is fooling itself.

Where the mispricings come from

Late injury news that has not fully propagated. Weather swings that move totals more than sides. Cross-venue price gaps between prediction markets and sportsbooks. Public money crowding into a brand-name program. These are structural, repeatable sources of error — not hunches.

From model output to a real ticket

A probability alone is not tradable. Each signal becomes a position with an entry price, a stop where the thesis is proven wrong, a target where the edge has been collected, and a size set against a $5,000 bankroll so no single Saturday can end the season. The college book holds at most six live tickets, ranked by edge.

Then it is graded. Final official scores only, published win or lose, with the running P&L visible to anyone who loads the site.

Quick answers

What does the AI actually do?

It prices each game independently of the market. CutbackPredict analytics produce a win probability, that probability is compared to the live contract price, and the difference in cents is the edge. The AI does not pick teams; it finds disagreements.

How big does the edge need to be?

At least eight cents between the market price and model fair value, with entry between 20c and 80c. Smaller gaps are inside the noise of the model and get skipped.

Is the model's record public?

Yes. Every selection settles on final official scores, and win rate, profit factor, drawdown, Sharpe and season P&L are all shown publicly — losers included.

Does AI make this a sure thing?

No. It makes the process repeatable and gradeable. A model with a real edge still loses plenty of individual tickets; the sizing rules exist precisely because of that.

Is this gambling advice?

No. It is a public record of one automated trader's positions for research and entertainment. Trade your own bankroll on your own analysis.
